Greek tradition meets modern indulgence in a dessert built around temperature, texture, and contrast.

The composition

Ingredients

  • 4 thick slices Greek tsoureki
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 scoops premium vanilla or kaimaki ice cream
  • 2 tbsp DAKRY Greek Thyme Honey
  • 2 tsp DAKRY Black Balsamic Pearls
Preparation

Method

01

Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.

02

Place the tsoureki slices in the pan and toast gently for 1–2 minutes per side until lightly golden and fragrant. The goal is to create a delicate buttery crust while keeping the interior soft.

03

Place one warm slice of tsoureki on each serving plate.

04

Add two scoops of vanilla or kaimaki ice cream over the warm bread.

05

Drizzle generously with DAKRY Greek Thyme Honey.

06

Scatter DAKRY Black Balsamic Pearls over the ice cream and honey, allowing their dark, glossy finish to create both flavor contrast and visual depth.

07

Finish with a second warm slice of tsoureki, slightly offset to reveal the layers beneath.

08

Serve immediately while the contrast between warm tsoureki and cold ice cream is at its finest.

Chef’s Note

Indulgence needs contrast.

The floral intensity of DAKRY Greek Thyme Honey beautifully complements the rich sweetness of the ice cream, while the Black Balsamic Pearls add concentrated bursts of acidity that balance every bite. Warm, cold, creamy, buttery, sweet, and tangy come together in one distinctly Mediterranean dessert.

Why it works

Warmth, sweetness, acidity.

Tsoureki offers a soft, aromatic richness that becomes even more expressive when lightly toasted in butter. Cold vanilla or kaimaki ice cream introduces creaminess and temperature contrast.

Greek thyme honey brings deep floral sweetness, while Black Balsamic Pearls cut through the richness with carefully measured bursts of acidity.

The result is familiar enough to feel comforting, yet refined enough to finish an elegant Mediterranean dinner.

“A memorable dessert is not simply sweet. It moves between warmth, richness, acidity, texture, and surprise.”
